BARROW AFC midfielder Dean Campbell says the squad are focused on getting back to winning ways as soon as possible.
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel, he said the players were eager to get back out ion the grass at home to Aston Villa under-21s tonight in the English Football League Trophy (kick-off 7pm).
He said: “We are all looking forward to it. It’s important that we get back out there quick and get back to winning games of football, simple as that.
“We’ve not done it for a while. I think tonight is a good opportunity for us to go with the mindset that we can turn things around.
“If we get a win, we’ll have a bit of positive momentum going into the league game on Saturday (at home to AFC Wimbledon kick-off 3pm).”
Defeat to Fleetwood in the previous round means that the Bluebirds involvement in this season’s Trophy will come to an end at the final whistle tonight, whatever the result.
But Campbell, says that doesn’t mean they aren’t taking the game seriously.
He added: “Like I said it’s important that we use this game to create a bit of momentum to get back to winning ways.
“It’s going to be a difficult game we know that, but if we continue to believe in ourselves, create chances, we are confident that the goals will come and that will help us get back to winning ways.”
