BARROW AFC head coach Stephen Clemence isn’t expecting an easy ride at home this weekend.

The Bluebirds play host to struggling Colchester United at Holker Street tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

The U’s have won just two of their 13 league games so far this season, drawing six and losing five.

But after a flying start to the campaign, Clemence’s men have also struggled for form of late, winning just once in their last 10 games in all competitions.

As always ahead of any game, the Barrow boss has taken a look at footage of Colchester.

The visitors having been toying with their formations as they look to find a winning formula.

That means Clemence isn’t certain just how Danny Cowley’s side will line up in Cumbria, but he says they will be a tough challenge, despite their current position in League Two.

Clemence told The Mail: “They’ve switched between a back four and back five in different games, so I’m not completely sure what system they are going to play if I’m being honest.

“But what I do know is that they will be very organised.

“They have got some good players and an experienced manager, so we know they will be out to come up here and get a result.

“They will be a tough nut to crack as most teams in this division are, but like I have said before it’s more about where we are at.

“If we are at our best, I expect us to give Colchester a very good game, and hopefully if we do that then we will be picking up a win at home this weekend.”

Despite not getting results of late, Clemence still believes his team have more than enough about them to get back to their early season form.

He added: “There’s no hiding from recent results, and that they haven’t been what anyone would have wanted.

“But like I have said before we aren’t losing badly to teams, it's just about those fine margins and getting better in the final third of the pitch.

“I know these boys can turn it around, and I have every faith in them that they will turn it around.

“We saw earlier in the season when went on the good run of results.

“Even when we were doing that, I said there were things we needed to work, and that’s still the case.

“There are things we still need to work on now, but I believe these boys will get back to where we were earlier in the season.”
