BARROW Raiders have tied down Delaine Gittens-Bedward to a new deal.
The prop forward has penned a one-year contract which will keep him at the Northern Competitions Stadium until at least the end of the 2025 season.
Speaking to the club’s official website about the deal, Gittens-Bedward said: “I’m super excited about re-signing with the Raiders.
“This season has been a great journey, and I’m grateful for the support I’ve been shown. I’ve developed a lot as a player, and I have a lot to prove to myself next year.
“I’m excited to see how much of an impact I can make for the team in 2025.”
Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey said: “Delaine worked really hard coming in on trial, and has rightly earned himself a contract for next year.
“He showed a great attitude towards improving both his fitness and skill levels, and got himself in the team on a few occasions towards the back end of the year.
“He has already shown immense potential, and we look forward to helping him develop into a regular in the team.”
Director of rugby Andy Gaffney said: “Everyone at the club is pleased that Delaine has agreed a new deal for next year.
“Having quality options which add to our depth is key to maintaining a good standard of rugby across a long season, and we’re looking forward to seeing how Delaine develops in 2025.”
