BARROW Raiders have confirmed the departure of five first team players following the conclusion to the season.

Departing the club are Ellis Gillam, Max Clarke, Greg Burke, Adam Jackson and Mike Ogunwole.

Gillam established himself as a key member of head coach Paul Crarey’s side having joined Raiders in their first season the Championship.

He went on to score nine tries in 71 appearances whilst also having an integral part in the club’s community work off the field through his role at the Advantage! Barrow Raiders Community Foundation.

Second-rower/centre Clarke departs having scored six tries in 16 appearances during his only season in Cumbria.

Former Betfred Super League forward Burke spent three seasons at Northern Competitions Stadium featuring 36 times for the club following his permanent move from Salford Red Devils.

Experienced half-back Jackson will also move on having signed a one-year professional deal with the club last season.

The playmaker made three appearances and proved to be a capable addition to the squad when called upon.

Former British Army soldier Ogunwole will also depart having made three substitute appearances last season.

Winger Max Anderson-Moore, who also featured for the club twice on dual-registration from the local amateur game last season, has decided to take up an opportunity at Whitehaven in 2025.

Commenting to the club on the departures, Barrow Raiders Director of Rugby Andy Gaffney said: “First and foremost, it is never nice to see players leave the club. Sport is ever evolving, and in order to bring in new players, others must go.

“All five players can hold their heads high, and we thank them for their service.

“We wish them every success moving forward.”
