BARROW AFC skipper Niall Canavan is delighted to have put pen to paper on a new deal.
The defender has signed a new contract with the Bluebirds running through until the summer of 2026.
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel, he said: “I’m really happy. It’s good to get it all sorted ahead of time, and I’m looking forward to moving ahead with the club.
“When I first came in, I needed a change from what I had. I needed a fresh challenge, and this (the move to Barrow) provided everything I was looking for at that time.
“The longer I’ve been here the more it has just built into my life and my family’s life.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I’ve really enjoyed the people here, everyone I’ve got to work with.
“I just want to be part of getting this club and this group we have at the minute, hopefully to that next step and up to the next level.
“There’s been some good times since I’ve been here and hopefully there’s many more to come.”
