MILLOM will be playing Division Two rugby in the Conference next season following their 52-10 win over Myton Warriors.

Also destined to retain their place are Barrow Island, who need a point from their last game of the season.

They should stave off the threat from Saddleworth who have a much poorer points difference.

Millom were in full control of their fixture at Devonshire Road with tries coming from Jude Lupton (2), Josh Blinkhorn (2), Connor Terrill (2), Tom Askew, Kyle Evans and Joe Wright.

The Woolybacks went in at the break at 28-10, but saw the Humberside team shoot into an early 10-point lead.

But from that point it was one-way traffic.

Barrow Island pulled off a fine 32-8 victory at Saddleworth taking a 20-0 lead into half-time.

Tries came via Finn Dutton, Josh McBain, Carl McBain, Max Anderson-Moore and Declan Baines with Sam Jones adding six goals.

In the NWML’s Division Two, Hindpool Tigers provided champagne rugby to defeat Roose Pioneers 60-14 at Redwaters.

The Tigers were soon off the mark with a Tom Heighton try converted by Ryan Kyte 0-6.

And it was Kyte who crossed from dummy-half, but failed to convert 0-10.

The Tigers increased their lead while keeping the ball alive for Paul Rickleton to score 0-14.

A high ball to the corner saw Finn Goodings rise above Matty Gedlin to score out wide, Kyte adding the goal 0-20.

A first attack from Pioneers saw Ben Niven charge up field from where Olie Dilks was held up over the line.

A counter-attack saw Connor McDermott gallop in for the first of four tries, Grant Burns converting 0-26.

Niven again went close prior to Taylor Roberts crossing for an unconverted try 4-26.

Evan James was having a strong game for the home side, who went further behind with a brilliant try. Jack Osman made a telling break but was held short but quick hands saw Rocco Scarponi in at the corner. Burns converted 4-32.

Dilks was held up over the line while Craig Deakin also went close before he closed the half with a try 4-36.

Following neat play from Reece Craig, a gap opened up for McDermott to score 4-40.

Matty Roberts soon responded for Pioneers, while minutes later James romped in from 20 yards out, Sam Beattie converting 14-40.

Further tries came from Goodings, McDermott (2) and Rickleton, who added two goals.

Ulverston lost 38-26 at Dragley Beck against Wigan St Cuthbert’s after training 8-24 at half-time.

Dalton's home game with Thatto Heath ‘A’ was called off, the St Helens side failing to raise enough players.

This Saturday Dalton face Burtonwood at Kelland Park where a victory will see them crowned Division One Champions.

In the Cumberland League, a depleted Askam side lost 62-12 at Flimby tries coming from Jude Everett -McNamara and Dylan Barrow with two goals from Lewis Stables.
