BARROW AFC have suffered a double injury blow ahead of today’s trip to face Harrogate Town.

The Bluebirds will be looking to continue their good start to the season when they line-up against The Sulphurites at Wetherby Road today (kick-off 3pm).

But they will do so without winger Connor Mahoney and defender Rory Feely, who both picked up injuries in recent matches.

Mahoney could well be an absentee for a substantial spell, with Barrow AFC head coach revealing that the injury is worse than first thought.

He told The Mail: “Unfortunately, it is a bit of a blow losing him.

“Connor unfortunately has got a bit of a significant thigh strain, so I don’t see him being back in the month or so, and he might be longer than that.”

The news is a little better on Feely, but it is another injury that Clemence could have done without with fellow defenders Mazeed Ogungbo and Chris Stokes and Sam Barnes also currently sitting out games with knocks.

Clemence added: ““Rory is probably a 10 to two weeks away.

“Mazeed is on the grass, and I would say he is at the latter end of his rehab. He is doing a little bit more work now along with Chris Stokes.

“Sam Barnes is probably a little bit behind them, but he is progressing nicely.”
