BARROW AFC head coach is expecting another tough test tomorrow when Port Vale visit Holker Street for a second time in a month.

The two sides locked horns in the Carabao Cup almost two weeks ago – the Bluebirds emerging 3-2 victors to progress to the next round.

Clemence isn’t expecting any surprises when The Valiants roll into town again today, and says it’s more about what his side deliver than what the visitors may or may not do.

He told the Mail: “I’ve watched all of their games this season because I studied them before the last game (cup), and then we have been studying them going into this one.

“I think I’ll expect a similar style to the way they played against us in the last game

“There might be some different faces, but it doesn’t really matter who they’ve got, or what names they’ve got on their team-sheet it’s about what we do.

“Obviously, it will be a tough game, and we will show them the respect that they deserve, but we’ve also got to make sure we take our game to them.

“And if we do that, we will give Port Vale some reason to worry.”

Having watched so many of Vale’s games this season, and having already come up against them, Clemence will use the experiences to try to fine tune Barrow for the challenge.

He added: “I think you take something from every game, and there were certain parts of our game, particularly in the first half (in the cup clash) that we needed to correct, and I think we did that very well as the game went on.

“And I thought as the game progressed, we got on top of Port Vale that night

“There’s stuff we could have done better, but there was stuff we did very very well, and we will have to go out and try to repeat some of that good stuff today.”
