BARROW AFC boss Stephen Clemence isn’t taking anything for granted ahead of today’s Cumbria derby at Brunton Park.
The Bluebirds have enjoyed a good start to the campaign with wins in both the league and the Carabao Cup – against Crewe Alexandra and Port Vale respectively.
Fortunes have been very different for today’s hosts Carlisle United, who have lost both of their games so far.
But Clemence isn’t expecting an easy ride against The Blues.
He told The Mail: “We know that we are playing against a very good Carlisle team.
“I know they haven’t started the season as well as they would have liked, but I’ve seen their two games and they have got really good players, so I’m expecting a tough test.
“We are in good form so we shouldn’t be fearing them or anything like that, but we do have to respect opponents.
“We’ll be going there in confident mood, and we will be looking to try to get a result, but we are not expecting an easy game.
“We know how important these games are for supporters and like every game, we’ll be doing what we can to get a result for them.
“To do that we know we have to be bang at it, and that’s what we will aim to be.”
