BARROW AFC head coach Stephen Clemence is enjoying the feelgood factor around the club at the minute.
The Bluebirds have kicked off life under Clemence with two wins out of two – a 1-0 win at home to Crewe Alexandra was followed by a 3-2 success in the Carabao Cup against Port Vale at Holker Street.
And while the Barrow boss isn’t getting ahead of himself, he’s happy with his side’s start.
He said: “It’s obviously nice to have got off to a good start, that always helps.
“I’m pleased, but obviously things can change very quickly, so we have to keep on top of it and keep going and keep trying to drive forward.”
Clemence hopes Barrow fans can see what they trying to do in terms of how they play, and that they are enjoying it so far.
He added: “I think you’ve probably seen a change in style from previous seasons, and that’s what we have tried to bring in, and I think the lads have taken that on really, really well.
“I have to say, and I’ve said it before in other interviews, the lads have been so easy to work with, and I’ve got some very good players in the building.
“And when you’ve got good players to work with, it makes your job as a coach much easier.
“So, I’m really happy with the group and where they are at right now.
“But look we’ve won our first two and that’s all it is, but we’ve got to keep it going now.
“We’ve got to make sure we keep making winning a habit.”
On the feelgood factor surrounding the Bluebirds at the minute, Clemence was quick to praise both the players and his backroom team.
“There’s a good atmosphere at the training ground,” he said. “There’s good feel from the team when I’m standing in that technical area.
“I feel that there’s a lot of energy on the pitch and, so yeah, it’s all looking good at the moment, and the boys do seem fully committed.
“My staff have been great the way they’ve worked on the training ground, and getting the message across to the lads.
“There’s a real feel of togetherness and a desire to succeed and I think that is credit to everyone and the work they are putting in.
“It is important that we keep doing that and keep pushing ourselves forward and that’s what we will do.
“So yeah, it’s a good start and there’s a good feeling about the place, but hopefully there is a lot more to come and we can keep building on it.”
