SUMMER signing Katia Kouyate says the Barrow AFC fans have him fired up to deliver.
The attacker joined the Bluebirds having come through the youth ranks at Premier League side Everton.
And having made the step up to senior football he is relishing the challenge.
He made his first start for Barrow in Tuesday night’s 3-2 Carabao Cup win over Port Vale.
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel about his performance and the support from the home fans, he said; “I had a great time (against the Valiants). There’s no better feeling than having the ball at my feet, especially when I isolate my man on the wing and just take him on.
“It’s going to take some getting used to (Barrow fans roaring him on), but it gives me the extra motivation to beat my man, because I know the fans behind me have got my back.”
Kouyate says the move to Barrow was the right one for him at the right time.
He added: “It got to the point last season where I did want to go out on loan, but obviously the club didn’t let me go.
“So, I ran down my contract and now I’ve come here to show everyone what I’m about.
“I’m not just some academy kid. I’ve come here to play, to step up and make a name for myself in the leagues.”
