BARROW Raiders Ladies are hoping to bounce back when they host Warrington Wolves Women at the Northern Competitions Stadium today (12pm kick-off).

Raiders suffered a heavy 64-6 defeat away to St Helens last time out in the Women’s Super League.

Speaking to the club’s official Facebook page, head coach Amanda Wilkinson, said: “We are looking forward to playing against Warrington and putting right what was wrong last time.”

But Wilkinson insists neither her or her team have allowed themselves to get to down about the game against the Saints.

She explained: “St Helens beat us 60-odd points to six last week, but disappointed is probably the wrong sort of word to describe how we feel as a team.

“St Helens came with a full-strength squad. They came here and they knew they were going to be challenged, and that they had to be at their best to get a good result.

“They don’t field those sort teams, only against the best, so credit to the girls we’ve made that marker this year by performing against some of the bigger teams.

“So, we’ve taken the positives from it. Defensively we were really tested at times and there were points in the game when we were really good as well.

“Our scrambled defence, we were good in contact with some really solid hits as well, and we worked the floor well so there’s lots of positive to take.”
