BARROW Raiders face another tough day out on the road when they take on Batley Bulldogs tomorrow.

They go into battle minus their Wigan loan players - Harvey Makin, Jacob Douglas and Ryan Brown, who have been recalled this week due to Wigan having a Reserve team fixture.

Ryan Shaw, James Greenwood, Delaine Bedwood -Gittens Brett Carter, and Tom Wilkinson are included in the 21-man squad along with Blain Marwood who is on loan from Workington.

Still on the treatment table are Greg Burke and Shane Toal, who are both a week away from returning.

Burke has had fluid drained off a knee injury, while Toal is still suffering with a groin problem.

The Bulldogs could have loan players from Super-League side Castleford in their squad, the likes of former full-back Luke Hooley along with Papua New Guinea forward Sam Kibula.

Speaking ahead of the game, Raiders head coach Paul Crarey said: “Yet another tough game in the Championship without our Wigan loan players, but we have to dig deep and get a result.

“Batley are always a difficult team to beat, but they like ourselves have been up and down with results.

“Last week they were 12-6 up at unbeaten Wakefield but lost 34-12, so they'll be out to put things right.

“We were all disappointed with the heavy defeat at York last week (54-12) and had a good meeting on Wednesday.”

Crarey is still without powerful prop forward Tom Walker, who was due to have an injection yesterday on a foot problem, so he will have to have a week out.

All being well he will be back for next week's home game with Sheffield.

Barrow are currently second bottom with five wins from 14 games on 10 points, while Batley are in ninth place two points ahead.

Fellow Cumbrian strugglers Whitehaven are one place above Barrow on the same points, but have a better points difference.
