BARROW AFC head coach Stephen Clemence says momentum is building ahead of the start of the season.

The Bluebirds take on FC United of Manchester tomorrow in their second pre-season friendly.

FC United’s Broadhurst Park is something of a home away from home for Barrow as their training ground is at the venue.

But Clemence admits he is unsure of exactly what lies in store for his side.

“The thing is when you play these friendly games you are never really completely sure what you are playing against as the opponent’s shape and how they will look to play.

“But we are setting our behaviours and how we’d like to play, and I’m expecting to share the game time around again tomorrow as we continue to look at things.

“We’ve still got six games to go including tomorrow, and I’ve got four-and-a-half weeks on the training ground.

“The intensity levels on the training ground have been raised this week. The football is looking more like it should do week to week on the training ground.

“We are continuing to work on things to make sure we are where we need and want to be against Crewe Alexandra on the first game of the season.”
