BARROW Raiders will go into their home game with Wakefield Trinity tomorrow (kick-off 2pm) with an air of confidence following last week's fine 24-10 win away to Swinton Lions.

However, they face a tough 80 minutes against the unbeaten Championship leaders who have won all 12 league games so far.

They have run in 450 points conceding just 142.

Under the experienced coach Daryl Powell, Trinity aim to bounce back straight into Super-League following relegation last year.

They are being bank-rolled in their bid to jump out of the Championship, and have pulled in many top liners to do the business.

Former Huddersfield and Great Britain winger Jermaine McGillvary returns to Craven Park, when as a young rookie he had a loan spell with Barrow over 12 years ago.

At full-back they have free-scoring Australian Lachlan Walmsley, a prolific try scorer formerly with Whitehaven and Halifax.

At half-back they have another former GB player Luke Gale who last week partnered Max Jowitt, but expected to return is ex South Pacific international Mason Lino.

Other top liners are Liam Hood, Josh Griffin and Matty Ashurst.

Raiders head coach Paul Crarey is aware of the task ahead.

He said: “They are going well under Daryl Powell, they are a top of the table side with so many good individuals.

“They have a massive squad, so good that they never took any players on duel reg from Wigan early season.

“They are the real deal, and it will be good for our spectators to see those players in action.

“We will be underdogs, so our lads will feel free to express themselves, they are not under any pressure to win, but we will not sit back, we will give them a game.

“We have prepared well, and the lads are all looking forward to the challenge.

“We could get a win you never know. We gave them a good game at their ground earlier in the season in the 1895 Cup, so we know a little about them.”

Crarey will have no loan players this week, Harvey Makin is back with Wigan along with Jacob Douglas.

On the plus side Aaron Smith returns after being out for several games, allowing Amir Bourouh to return back to Salford.

The only doubt is centre Shane Toal who has a niggling leg injury. Max Clarke is also back in the squad after being 18th man last week.
