BARROW AFC have announced the signing of forward Andy Dallas on a season-long loan from Barnsley.

The 24-year-old signed for the South Yorkshire club last summer on a three-year deal having scored 41 goals for Solihull Moors and Chesterfield FC in all competitions between 2021-2023 in the National League.

Dallas started his footballing career at Rangers where he signed his first professional contract in 2016.

He made four first-team appearances in his three years at the club and had two loan spells at Stenhousemuir and Greenock Morton.

In 2019, he made the move to Cambridge United in League Two, but it was a loan spell at National League side Weymouth in January 2021 which grabbed people's attention as he netted 12 goals in just half a season.

As a result of the successful loan he made the permanent move to Solihull Moors in the summer of 2021.

Speaking to the club website about his latest move to Barrow, Dallas said: “From the first conversation, I knew that Barrow AFC was where I wanted to come and enjoy my football for the 2024/25 season.

“I’m just delighted to get my head down and push myself and the club forward. I wanted to come in for the first day of pre-season. I’m glad to have the move done so early.

“I’m a forward who likes to play on the shoulder and get in behind. I work for the team and I’m obviously hoping to score a lot of goals!”

The addition is Head Coach, Stephen Clemence’s fourth signing of the window after the Club previously announced the acquisitions of Katia Kouyate, Connor Mahoney and Sam Barnes.

Clemence told the Club website: “We’re delighted that Andy has decided to join us. There was a lot of competition for his signature.

“He wants to improve and develop as a player. He has the ability to stretch defences, and technically he can finish off both feet so I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
