BARROW Raiders have signed Salford Red Devils hooker Amir Bourouh on a two-week loan deal.

This is the 23-year-old’s second spell at the Northern Competitions Stadium – having played twice on loan last season – scoring twice on debut in a 28-14 defeat away at York Knights.

Bourouh has also enjoyed spells with the likes of London Broncos, tomorrow’ opponents Swinton Lions, Halifax Panthers and Wigan Warriors, where he made his professional debut after coming through the ranks.

On his arrival, Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey said: “Amir is now an established Super League hooker and it’s fantastic to have him back in the fold even though it’s only for a short spell.

“Amir brings bags of enthusiasm and aggression and we look forward to seeing this class act in a Barrow shirt once more.”

Director of Rugby Andy Gaffney said: “It’s great to have Amir back at the club for a few weeks. We’re more than aware of his calibre and his arrival is the perfect opportunity to provide quality cover for Aaron Smith, who continues to recover from his injury.

“Amir has proven time and time again that he’s more than capable of competing at the top with the best and I’d like to thank Salford Red Devils head coach Paul Rowley for helping us out and we hope to contribute further to his development.”
