Barrow Raiders utility back Luke Broadbent says the squad are up for a tough challenge this weekend.

Broadbent expects a wounded Bradford Bulls side to be looking to bounce back from defeat last weekend, and says the Cumbrians must be up for the fight.

Speaking to Raiders official website, he said: “Odsal is always a tough place to go.

“Bradford will be hungry to get back to winning ways after a defeat to Batley last time out, but if we stick to the game plan Cresta (head coach Paul Crarey) has given us, then there’s no reason why we can’t earn another win at their place.

“We know it’ll be tough, and Bradford have brought in some big players this year and are looking to be a top four side.

“Containing some of their top players is a challenge we’re all excited for.”

Raiders go into Sunday’s clash on the back of arguably their best performance of the season – a 25-12 victory over Featherstone Rovers at the Northern Competitions Stadium last weekend.

Broadbent grabbed Raiders final try against Rovers, and feels the team’s performance is something to build on for the rest of the campaign.

He said: “There’s a good feeling around the team at the minute after some good performances.

“The lads who have come in on dual-reg are starting to gel into the team, and the results are showing on the pitch.

“The performance was the best so far this season. We stuck to the game plan given to us and it paid off.

“I feel we owed Featherstone one after we pushed them close at home last year and narrowly missed out on a victory.

“They are always a top Championship club, so to beat them at home in front of our own fans was even better.

“I feel our team has the ability to compete with any team in the league, and last weekend’s result proved that.”
