FORMER Barrow defender Tyrell Warren has signed for one of their League Two rivals.

The Manchester-born full-back was one of 10 players released by the Bluebirds following the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The 25-year-old has become Grimsby Town’s first signing of the summer.

Warren featured 61 times in his two years with the Bluebirds.

He only managed 18 appearances last term due to injury, but did weigh in with two goals.

Speaking about his new signing Town head coach David Artell told the club’s official website: “We’re delighted, we’ve moved quickly to get it done.

“He’s got an impressive pedigree coming through Manchester United, he’s now found his feet in professional football and done well under Pete (Wild) at Barrow.

“We feel as though there’s even more to come, so we’re looking forward to developing him and making even better than what he already is, we’re really excited.”

On making the move Warren said: “I’m very happy to be here, I can’t wait to get started.

“I had a zoom meeting with the gaffer and it was really good, I was very impressed with what I was shown.”
