ONLY three games took place at the weekend with defeats for all three of our local side, writes Paddy McAteer.
Milliom’s scheduled game at Shaw Cross in Division Two of the National Conference was switched to Devonshire Road due to the Dewsbury side’s pitch being unfit.
However, the switch brought no joy for the Woolybacks who went down 28-14 after trailing 16-6 at the break.
Tries came from Kyle Evans, Kia Williams and Layton French with one conversion from Lee Postlethwaite.
Barrow Island were big losers at Wigan St Jude’s, going down 62-12 after trailing 26-6 at half-time.
Finn-Dutton-Rosconie and Jake Stockdale crossed for tries with two goals from the boot of Sam Jones.
Former Barrow Raider Ryan Duffy featured in the Jude’s line-up.
This weekend, Millom are home to Ellenborough, while Barrow Island travel to Shaw Cross.
Askam went down 58-0 at Wath Brow “A” in the Cumberland League, with a fine debut coming from 17-year-old Lucas James.
The Barton Townley final between the holders Ulverston and Millom takes place at Craven Park on Saturday, July 13.
