BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild says it is ‘really pleasing’ to be where they are in the league at this stage of the season.
The Bluebirds are closing in on the 65-point mark and are currently just one point away from their overall tally last season.
It comes after Wild guided Barrow to a top-half, ninth-placed position last season having recorded 62 points.
They currently occupy sixth position with at least one game in hand on most of their closest rivals with nine games left to play.
“As a manager, you’re always trying to improve the football club and get more points than you did the year before,” Wild said.
“It’s really pleasing to be closing in on 65 points and to see the way that things are going.
“We probably need around 75 points to get into the playoffs, so that’s our next target to chase down.
“Hopefully we can finish it off.”
In Sky Bet League Two last season, 75 points was enough to secure one of the four play-off spots, whereas 77 points was needed in the 2021-22 campaign.
Contrastingly, 73 points were needed in the 2020-21 season, whilst only 71 points were required in the 2018-19 season.
