HINDPOOL Tigers take on Roose Pioneers in the North West Men’s League’s Second Division this weekend.
Both teams go into the game on the back of victories in last Saturday's opening weekend.
A Brisbane Park pitch inspection is needed with the recent amount of rain making conditions heavy, and the tie could be switched to Redwaters at the 11th hour.
The Tigers go into the game with confidence following their 50-16 win over Leigh Miners A while equally confident are Pioneers, who defeated Newton Storms 20-12.
Sam Turner is set to make his debut for the Tigers, while Reece Craig is unavailable. Otherwise, Kev Kyte’s line-up will be similar to last week, in a game that saw Connor McDermott cross for a hat-trick of tries.
Pioneers will pitch three of their successful under-18 players into action in Tyler Brady, Toby Bowness and Finn McMillan alongside latest recruit Sam Lester, with Dan White also in the frame.
However, unavailable are Ricky Donoghue, Grant Robinson, Matty Roberts, Mikee Light , Sam Johnson and Anton Kudelski.
In Division One, Ulverston travel to Wigan St Cuthbert’s, but not on the bus are Brad Williamson, Josh Catters and Rowan Smedley, all unavailable.
On the treatment table and also out are Liam Saunders, Oliver Wilkes, Jake Spedding, Charlie Garner and Matty Storey.
On the plus side, back in contention are Dave Beck and Dan Akrigg while there could be debuts for Jamie Dickinson, Oli Coward and Louis Dickinson.
Dalton are away to Chorley Panthers and go into the game on the back of a 30-8 win over St Cuthbert’s.
In the Conference Second Division, Millom make the long journey to Mytons who were defeated at Barrow Island last weekend.
The Woolybacks welcome back half-back Jonathan Hodgson, but await late checks on Dom O’Brien and Bobby Wright, otherwise a similar squad to that which beat Pilkington Recs.
Coach Brad Crellin said: “We were not good in the first 40 minutes, but put in a good shift in the second period in which Lee Postlethwaite and Naki Saumaki were outstanding.”
Barrow Island travel to Dewsbury Celtic on the back of a big win over Mytons, but are without Jake Stockdale and Elliot Campbell.
Back in the fold are Dec Baines, Oli Holmes and Will Scott.
Askam have joined the Cumberland league and face Hensingham A at Fallowfield Park.
