ULVERSTON are safely through to the semi-finals of the Barton Townley Cup.
The North West Counties side, who are the current holders of the trophy, defeated Conference Second Division side Barrow Island 22-16 at Dragley Beck
Tries for the home side came via Australian debutant Jack Aiken, Ryan John and Marc Storey (2), with three goals from the boot of Max Nisbitt.
For the Island, Tez Neuto, Carl McBain and Shane Sanderson crossed the whitewash with skipper Sam Jones adding two goals.
Roose Pioneers eased into the semi-finals with a 36 -22 victory over Hindpool Tigers at Redwaters.
It was a game that produced three hat-tricks of tries, two for the home side.
For Pioneers Josh McConnell and Tom Farren crossed three times each, with Matty Roberts adding a try and four conversions.
Connor McDermott notched a hat-trick for the Brisbane Park outfit, with Tom Heighton and Ryan Kyte also touching down, the latter also added a conversion.
Millom are safely in the next round following their 30-8 win over Dalton at Devonshire Road.
Tries for the Woolybacks came from Kyle and Jackson Evans, Josh Banham, Josh Blinkhorn, Ross Brooks and Layton French with Jorty Peters adding three goals.
The National Conference season gets underway on Saturday with both local Division Two teams away from home.
Barrow Island go up the coast to face newcomers Ellenborough while Millom are at Wigan St Jude’s.
