SHOW me what you’ve got – that’s the message from Barrow AFC boss Pete Wild ahead of tomorrow’s League Two clash at home to Tranmere Rovers.
Wild is without two key players for the game with both David Worrall and Luca Stephenson forced to sit out the encounter due to concussion protocols.
Worrall had to be taken to hospital following a clash of heads with two Wrexham players in the 4-1 defeat on New Year’s Day.
He was replaced from the bench by Stephenson who later had to be taken off after a clash of heads with James McClean.
Thankfully, for Wild the two players are on the road to recovery, but are unable to play tomorrow.
Rather than worry about what he hasn’t got at his disposal the Barrow boss has challenged others to step up to the plate.
He said: “We’ve got a big squad for a reason. There’s been lads desperate for opportunities and wanting to take opportunities.
“Now it is there turn to step up and take them.
“We try to make sure we keep all the players involved and make sure they are ready to go when it is their turn.
“And when it is their turn what we have been saying to them is make sure you deliver.
“Because if you don’t deliver when it is your turn then you end up at the back of the queue.
“The lads have bought into what we are trying to and how we go about our business so hopefully that stands us in good stead.
“Both David and Luca came in for concussion assessment yesterday morning. Both are OK and they are moving in the right direction.
“They are starting to become symptom free and they will be assessed over the next four days and we will see where we are at come the start of next week.”
