BARROW AFC kick-off what is a hectic period of fixtures on Friday night, and boss Pete Wild insists they must maintain their focus.
The Bluebirds travel to the Mornflake Stadium to face fifth-placed Crewe Alexandra tomorrow night – 7.45pm kick-off.
That clash marks a spell of five League Two matches over the space of 15 days against some of the league’s top sides.
Wild knows his squad will need to have their wits about them if they are to enjoy a successful festive period.
The players have been given special plans looking across those next few games rather than the usual game by game focus they usually employ.
But that doesn’t mean they are getting ahead of themselves, as Wild explained.
“We usually do our plans week by week, but with so many games in such a short space of time we have given the players a monthly plan.
“I think that helps so they know where they are going to be at any point, and they know what they have to do.
“We will still be taking a game at a time though when it comes to our focus.
“When the games come thick and fast like this you have to make sure you stay focused and don’t get too far ahead of yourself. I think if you do that then that’s when you can come a cropper.”
