THE BLUEBIRDS continued their unbeaten run of form at home after drawing 0-0 against Salford City on Saturday, 

Barrow AFC started the game with a high tempo and created multiple chances, the first coming only two minutes in when Emile Acquah chased the ball down. The ball eventually fell into the path of Robbie Gotts who picked up the ball in the area and was taken down, but the referee blew the whistle in favour of Salford.  

 Barrow had another opportunity on goal when Kian Spence picked up the ball from the halfway line and penetrated the Salford midfield and took on the shot from the edge of the area, but his shot flew past the post. 

Barrow AFC continued to dominate possession and create the best chances. In the 11th minute, they came close again after David Worrall took a throw-in for Barrow and played it into Dom Telford who carried the ball into the box onto his left foot and took his shot. The shot was low and cannoned out against the post and off the Salford keeper, but still didn’t go in. 

The first chance for Salford came in the 16th minute when Ryan Watson ran down the left wing and crossed a ball into the box, which came off the knee of Salford right back Ethan Ingram and out for a goal kick to Barrow. 

The next best chance for Barrow to take the lead came in the 30th minute from a Barrow corner. Elliot Newby took the kick for the Bluebirds and his cross hit the head of George Ray, who flicked the ball narrowly wide. 

After a dominant first-half display from the Bluebirds, they came out for the second half desperate to break the deadlock. 

In the 60th minute, Salford keeper Alex Cairns handled the ball off the line, due to a misplaced pass from his defender.

So, the referee gave an indirect freekick to Barrow, which was taken by Telford and he struck the ball onto the chest of a Salford defender and the rebound fell to Niall Canavan, whose attempt was defended well again, and the final rebound was struck by Spence but it was deflected wide for a Barrow corner. 

The last quality chance for Barrow came in the 87th minute when Newby ran with the ball down the left wing and held onto it well, he then spotted Gotts on the overlap.

Gotts crossed the ball into the box and Acquah received the header, but it bounced just wide of the post and out for a Salford goal kick. 

And that was the final chance of the game as it ended goalless with both sides sharing the points one apiece. Another positive result adds to Barrow’s unbeaten run, which is now six games unbeaten at home for Wild’s side as they prepare to entertain Morecambe on Tuesday night.
