ENGLAND midfielder Georgia Stanway said the main focus should be on the Spanish team's win rather than the controversy surrounding the FA president kissing star player Jenni Hermoso.
After Spain beat England 1-0 in the women's World Cup Final in Australia the Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales kissed Hermoso, which she said was not consensual.
The incident has gained international media attention and Spanish prosecutors have launched a preliminary sexual assault investigation.
The England women's team put out a joint statement condemning 'unacceptable actions allowed to happen by a sexist and patriarchal organisation.'
Stanway told BBC Breakfast that she wants the Spanish football federation to 'do what's right.'
She also said: "On behalf of us Lionesses we put out our statement because we want to show love and support and we want the main focus to be on the fact that they won and they should be full of joy and be celebrating that moment.
"This is a moment where we can all come together we can do something powerful and we can do what’s right.”
