THE young champions in Millom put on a great show during the friendly competition brought about by the inter school sports day.
In 1992, Black Combe School were the hosts during the larger sports category of racing, obstacle courses, rallies, and other events.
The day was a huge success and every pupil from each school involved brought out their best to impressive the judges, the audience, their teachers as well as their friends.
Black Combe finished well clear at the top with 142 points, with Haverigg finishing second on 103 points and St James's, Millom third with 97.
Other teams saw similarly impressive results.
Captain Shaw's School, Bootle and Waberthwaite were joint-second.
Many more sport days followed.
