A kid’s football team has received an injection of cash from a new sponsor.
Walney Island Yellows Under 12’s are now sponsored by Furness Golf Club.
Managed by Dane Townsend, the team will have the sponsorship during the whole season.
£550 was sent from Furness Golf Club, which has helped the team massively.
Townsend revealed the new sponsorship has funded new kits for the team.
The manager continued by hailing the golf club for their generosity.
He said: “[Furness Golf Club] paid us £550 to buy our squad new kits.
“They’ve been fantastic support.
“We’re so grateful to have a partnership with them.”
The team currently sit in tenth in the Barrow & District Junior Football League Under 12's division.
Playing four games, the side have picked up one win and lost three times.
However, Townsend's team will have to wait until December for their next match.
As a result of the current lockdown, the Government announced that non-elite football has been suspended.
This means that certain semi-professional, amateur and youth football clubs are banned from fulfilling their fixtures.
Training has also been prohibited for the next four weeks.
