RE-SIGNING the majority of last year's squad has been 'easy' according to Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey - who revealed all deal were done with no dramas.
The Craven Park men have managed to secure the majority of last season's squad, as well as adding former Super League players in the form of Shaun Lunt, Adam Walne, and Ben Harrison.
Giving an update on the progress of the squad, Crarey revealed that the three new big signings expressed interest about coming to Raiders before the club approached them.
He said: "The lads have been loyal and re-signed with no dramas and with no one wanting anymore money.
"Shane Lunt actually rang me and said he wanted to finish his career off at Barrow which is fantastic.
"With Adam Walne, he spoke to his brother Jordan who rang us and said he wanted to go part time. A few were in for him but he wanted to play with his brother.
"And Ben Harrison got in touch with me for a chat and told me he wanted to come here and we cut a deal.
"So we are so pleased to get them players on board, three strike players to go with the good squad we have got.
"We have lost a few because they wanted regular game time and we can't guarantee that here. There is a health competition for places now and lads who are left out have to fight to get in."
