JUST when there appeared to be a glimmer of hope for the troubled Norton brand it received another body blow last week.
The former Norton CEO Stuart Gardiner had sold off all rights and tooling of the 961 engine to Chinese firm Jinlang just weeks before the administrators moved in.
Jinlang intended building a new machine utilising the 961 Norton engine effectively shutting down the UK factory.
Creditors are still owed over £28,000. They include TT race legend John McGuinness.
I do hope a solution can be found soon to keep the Norton in production in the UK.
