Just one amateur football match survived Storm Jorge over the the weekend and it came in the Furness Premier League, where Haverigg United hammered Holker Old Boys reserves 6-0 at Wilson Park.
Haverigg put Holker to the sword for a convincing win, thanks to goals from Jamie Cairns (2), John Chmiel (2), Anthony Foster and Craig Armstrong, that moved them above Barrow Celtic and up to sixth in the table.
This was the third weekend running where awful weather led to the amateur football schedule being almost entirely washed out, meaning some clubs won't have played for almost a month by the time Saturday comes along.
Groundsmen around the county will be hoping for better weather this week.
