BARROW AFC have allowed striker Jack Hindle to sign for National League North side Gateshead until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has struggled for game time in what is his second season with the Bluebirds and was left out of their matchday squad in their last two games, with Byron Harrison and Jamie Soule being picked ahead of him on the bench.
Hindle was given his first taste of the National League when he signed for AFC from Colwyn Bay in summer 2018 and made a stunning start to his time at Holker Street by scoring twice on his competitive debut against Havant & Waterlooville.
He went on to finish as top scorer with 12 goals in what was manager Ian Evatt’s first season in charge, with other highlights including two strikes off the bench in a victory at Dover and him scoring the winner at high-flying Eastleigh.
However, he struggled to get going this time around, with a few personal issues in his life leading to a slow start to the current campaign.
Hindle has scored three times for the Bluebirds since then but he has only made three starts in the National League after falling behind Scott Quigley and Dior Angus in the pecking order.
The former Radcliffe Borough front man will be available for Gateshead’s match at Chester this afternoon, with his new side currently sixth in their division and chasing a play-off place.
