Vickerstown reserves first challenge as leaders of the Furness Premier League comes tomorrow when they travel to Tummerhill to face Walney Island reserves.
Last season’s runners-up rose to the summit of the Premiership thanks to a 3-0 victory at Barrow Celtic, which allowed them to make the most of Kirkby United’s match at Dalton United reserves being postponed.
Kirkby face a difficult trip to third-placed Hawcoat Park reserves, whose run of seven straight league wins was ended by a 1-1 draw against Holker Old Boys reserves last week.
Croftlands Park can’t afford to slip further off the pace when they travel to eighth-placed Swarthmoor Social, while there is a key match at the bottom of the division between Barrow Wanderers and Britannia.
The visitors will climb above their opponents and out of the bottom two should they win, but they’ll need to put their extraordinary 7-6 defeat at home to Haverigg United behind them.
In Division One, Soccer Bar are still breathing down the necks of leaders Hawcoat Park A (four points behind with four games in hand) and they’ll be confident of picking up another three points at Ulverston Rangers reserves.
Division Two leaders Coniston will look to open the nine-point gap between them and Barrow Wanderers reserves even further when the two sides meet at Shepherds Bridge.
