Another week, and another cup competition gets under way in the Furness Premier League tomorrow, with there guaranteed to be a new name on the Horne Cup this season.
With holders Barrow Wanderers now in the Premier Division and unable to defend their title, Division One leaders Hawcoat Park A are the highest-ranked team in the competition and they will be playing host to Millom A.
Bridge United, having knocked Furness Rovers reserves out of the Paul Wilson Memorial Trophy last week, are up against their ‘A’ team this time around, while Barrow Celtic reserves will be eyeing an upset at Croftlands Park reserves.
Two First Division strugglers will clash in Swarthmoor Social reserves and Crooklands Casuals reserves and there is an all-Division Two tie between leaders Coniston and Walney Island A.
In the Premier Division, top travels to bottom, with Kirkby United strongly expected to maintain their lead following their match against Dalton United reserves at Railway Meadow.
Two of the chasing pack go head-to-head at Newby Terrace, as Barrow Celtic, who are fourth in the table, welcome a well-rested Vickerstown reserves, after their match at Kirkby was postponed last week.
Croftlands Park, the other team in title contention, head to struggling Barrow Wanderers, while Bootle are at home to Swarthmoor Social.
