Askam United under-13s got back to winning ways in some style in the Under-14s Championship of the Barrow & District Junior Football League by hammering Hawcoat Park under-13s 12-1 at Duddon Lane.
Askam had suffered their first league defeat of the season at Hawcoat Park Hawks last week, but they came storming back to move level on points with the previous week’s conquerors.
Millom Juniors Black are also on 12 points after blitzing Barrow Island 9-0, with Sam Fallows scoring four of their goals and their other strikes coming from Declan Tyson (2), Jackson Evans and Jayden Woodburn.
There was another one-sided scoreline at Furness College, as Dalton United under-13s saw off Walney Island under-13s 10-0.
Josh Williams struck four times for the hosts, while Jamie Wilkes (2), Alex Hustings, Charlie Morgan, Jamie Shannon and Peter Grydziuszko also on target.
There was only one game in the Under-14s Premiership and it went to form as leaders Hawcoat Park Dynamos ran out 18-0 winners against Swarthmoor under-13s.
There was a four-goal haul for Ben Ridgeway, a hat-trick for Joe Rigby, braces for Sam Battle, Luke Ellis, Cohen Hill and Jamie Harris, while Kian Holt, Charlie McGowan and Soloman Wilding also scored.
Just one fixture in the under-12s division survived as Kyle Riley struck four in Millom Juniors 12-0 hammering of Dalton United, Reuben Lupton (3), Cameron Allan (2), Lohan Robinson (2) and Harvey Maxwell-Kelly their other scorers.
In the under-16s Premiership, Walney Island maintained their 100 per cent record with a 7-1 victory at home to Millom Juniors.
Holker Old Boys Greens made it four wins out of four by defeating the club’s under-15 Colts 12-0, while Cole Cooper scored twice as Furness Rovers under-15 Whites picked up their first win of the season with a 5-1 defeat of Vickerstown under-15s.
Under-16 Championship leaders Swarthmoor Colts’ unblemished record continued with an 8-0 win against Furness Rovers under-15 Royals, while Crooklands Casuals were too strong for their under-15 side as they won 11-0, Tyler Jackman and Aiden Porter both scoring hat-tricks.
