Our amateur football teams return to league action from various cup competitions tomorrow and there are two local derbies to look forward to in the First Division of the West Lancashire League.
Askam United will be welcoming Crooklands Casuals to Duddon Road and go into the clash third in the table, while Cassies need to haul themselves clear of the three teams below them.
The two teams had contrasting fortunes in penalty shoot-outs last week, with Askam defeating Hawcoat Park in the Presidents Cup and Crooklands being knocked out by Hesketh Bank in the same competition.
Millom will be making the trip across the Furness Peninsula to face Ulverston Rangers full of confidence after their 6-0 thrashing of Stoneclough last Saturday.
The other local interest in the division, Hawcoat Park, will make the journey down to Croston.
Vickerstown will look to bounce back from being dumped out of the Lancashire Amateur Shield against Blackpool Wren Rovers in their away game at fourth-place Slyne with Hest in the Premier Division.
In Division Two, Furness Cavaliers make the trip to Freckleton, while Dalton United, Furness Rovers and Walney Island all play on their own turf, against Burscough Dynamo, Mill Hill St Peters and Storeys, respectively.
In the North West Counties League, Holker Old Boys welcome Nelson to Rakesmoor Lane.
