Holker Old Boys fell to a last-minute defeat at Abbey Hey in the first round of the Macron Cup last Saturday.
After Aaron Fleming opened the scoring for the hosts, Sam Joel levelled scores on the hour mark for Holker, who are second in First Division North of the North West Counties League, but Abbey Hey found a winner from Callum McGlynn in added time.
Vickerstown, the last team from the area in the competition, are out of the Lancashire Shield following a 3-1 home loss against Blackpool Wren Rovers. An own goal kept the hosts in the tie but they couldn't make further inroads into the Blackpool lead.
In The Presidents Cup, Askam United beat local rivals Hawcoat Park on 3-2 penalties after Luke Mitchell and Harry Bolton had swapped goals in normal time, which finished in a 1-1 draw.
Crooklands Casuals are out of the cup following late drama in their game against Hesketh Bank. Dave Mansergh and Dave Graves had put Cassies 2-0 up, but Danny Birkby scored two goals in the last five minutes to take the game to a penalty shoot-out, which Hesketh won 5-4.
Ulverston Rangers beat Kendal County in a thriller 4-3 thanks to goals from Zach Milby (2), Sean Mooney and Callum Fawcett giving them a 4-0 half-time lead.
Kendal threatened an astonishing comeback through three goals in ten minutes from Peter Carradus, Bailey Carlos and Harry Routledge, but Ulverston just about held on.
Millom join them in the hat for the next round after they beat Stoneclough 6-0. Ben McDonald (2), Theo Wilson, Danny Pattinson, Jamie Pattinson and the evergreen Carl Waters all found the net for the rampant hosts, who scored five times in the first half.
