THERE was a glut of goals as cup action took centre stage for junior footballers across Barrow.
Holker Old Boys Greens were the biggest victors in the under-16 Ulverston Hospital Cup as they dispatched Crooklands Casuals 10-0.
The Holker Old Boys under-15 Colts also progressed after a 3-0 win over Millom Juniors. Elsewhere, in the under-16 cup, Otto Duncan scored five as Swarthmoor Colts swept aside Vickerstown under-15 Blues 9-0. Furness Rovers under-15 Whites also qualified for the next round with a 3-0 away win at Vickerstown under-15.
In the under-14 Ulverston Hospital Cup, Jack Ponter bagged a brace as Askam United under-13 defeated Walney Island under-13 at Tummerhill.
Askam led 2-1 at half-time and extended their lead in the second 45 minutes to emerge as 6-3 victors.
Furness Cavaliers under-13 won 5-2 at Ulverston Rangers under-13 while Millom Juniors Black put nine past Swarthmoor with no return.
Furness Cavaliers scored 11 at Holker Old Boys Eagles and Hawcoat Park Hawks put 12 past Hawcoat Park under-13 with no reply.
The final two games in the under-14 cup saw Dalton United under-13 and Hawcoat Park Dynamos progress against Swarthmoor under-13 and Crooklands Casuals, respectively.
There was better news for Crooklands Casuals Oranges as they saw off Holker Old Boys 4-1 in the under-12 competition.
Hawcoat Park Minions recorded the biggest win of the weekend, winning 15-0 at Dalton United. Furness Cavaliers won a 13-goal thriller at Furness Rovers Knights 9-4.
