Ulverston Leisure Centre has continued its efforts to get more families to come down to and visit their Priory Road site by starting up Fun Days on the final Sunday of every month.
The day starts off with a Family Swim hour from 10:30am in the pool, while the Tennis Centre is also open from 11am until 1pm, where families can play mini tennis and badminton, away from the worsening weather.
Inflatables are also put up for the kids, including bouncy castles and families of up to two adults and three children can enjoy all this for just £5.
Active communities coordinator Hannah Paling said: "At this time of year, there's not quite so much to do outside, when it's raining and cold and you can't go for walks or things like going to the park or to the beach or out for a picnic.
"You're a bit restricted at this time of year and even though our Tennis Centre is a bit cold, we've got a big space to utilise, so what we're looking at doing is basically getting people in and just offer a range of activities.
"We've got our inflatables and we've also got badminton, mini tennis and table tennis, which you can come and do on a casual booking anyway.
"We've just put them on a bit of a cheaper offer just to get the place busy and to get people down playing, get parents down playing with the younger ones and try stuff out."
The first Fun Day on September 29 proved to be very popular, with several families coming down to try all the different activities and they won't have too long to wait until the second event. That takes place on Sunday, October 27 with the third Fun Day going ahead on Sunday, November 24.
Paling said: "It went really well - we probably had about 60 down. There was a family swim before that, so we had a lot of families head down to the pool first.
"They got to make a bit of a morning out of it and they seemed to enjoy it, so we're going to do it again at the end of October and end of November.
"We're hoping to carry it on because we've got a massive space and we're trying to make us of it and the weather helped because it was really wet."
