The Barrow and District Rugby League Top4 competition begins tonight and a new name will be crowned as champions.
That is because last season’s winners Roose Pioneers have not entered a team this year, after their move to the North West Men’s League.
Ulverston A, who finished second in the league during the regular season, have a home semi-final against Walney Central A, who finished third.
These two sides have struggled all season to put a team out but with the season coming to the end and lads wanting honours, this could turn out to be a cracking game.
The other game has Barrow Island A going to Kelland Park to face all conquering Dalton, who have been hoovering up the trophies so far this year.
The Island will be wanting to finish their season on a high and if they have the experienced lads available, along with the young players, then they will give Dalton a tough time.
However, home advantage will stand Dalton in good stead and they will be regarded as favourites after winning every game they’ve played this season.
Whatever the outcome, there will be some entertaining rugby played as the season reaches its conclusion.
Top4 semi-finals (kick-off 6:30pm)
Dalton v Barrow Island A
Ulverston A v Walney Central A
