Ulverston Golf Club's Luke Walker has been named in Cumbria's team for their final Daily Telegraph Golf League match of the season, which is against Lancashire next week.
Chris Coates (Carus Green) and Dom Barron-Holden (Kendal) will be making their first county appearances as Cumbria press to finish runners-up by beating a very strong opponent at Childwall GC, near Liverpool.
Richard Mewse (Workington) and Walker Ulverston retain their places and will lead the team off in the morning's foursomes, having been really impressive so far against Northumberland,Durham and Cheshire. Furness' Rob Spence was not available for selection.
The end-of-season honours board has just been completed with unfortunately no medals or trophies being handed out to any of the local clubs or players from south Cumbria.
The Strokeplay Champion is again the resilient Will Bowe from Workington GC, while the evergreen Simon Young (Seascale) is the Matchplay Champion and the County Junior Champion is the talented Will Coxon from Carus Green.
These three will now go forward to compete in the prestigious Champion of Champions event next month at Frilford Heath GC
The Interclub Matchplay winner was Workington GC, who will now go to Romford in September to compete for the All England Club Champions Trophy.
