Bootle made it four wins from four in the Furness Premier League with a 4-0 home victory over Dalton United reserves, with Aaron Bradley, Thomas Millard, Oliver Smith and Joe Capstick their scorers.
Kirkby United are second in the table and they had a convincing 6-1 win against Holker Old Boys reserves. Jack Gardner (3), Sean Gardner and Ben Wilson were the Kirkby scorers, while Andy Benn replied in vain for Holker.
Barrow Wanderers sit third with three wins from three as they registered a 3-2 victory against Britannia. Dan Turner helped himself to a brace and Moses Helliwell rounded off the scoring for the Wanderers. Danny Keenan and Jordan Wallace replied for The Brit.
Haverigg United have also made a solid start to the season and they beat Swarthmoor Social 2-0 at Wilson Park, John Chmiel and Jamie Cairns scoring a goal a piece.
Hawcoat Park reserves beat Millom reserves 5-3 in an entertaining game at Hawcoat. Carl Pearson (2), Matty Pickering, Ry Mackay and 16-year-old debutant Dylan Ellis were the hosts’ scorers and Dave Cooper (2) and Neil Shaw were on target for Millom.
Max Green, Danny Douglas and Nathan Watters all scored in Vickerstown reserves’ 3-0 home win against Croftlands Park.
Walney Island reserves lost 3-1 at home to Barrow Celtic, for whom Rob Johnson (2) and Charlie Bunting were on target.
