Walney Central A await the outcome of tonight’s CJS Knockout Cup semi-final between Dalton and Barrow Island A to see who they play in the final at Craven Park.
Dalton reached the semi-final by defeating Ulverston A 38-10 in the first round at Dragley Beck.
Always in command, Dalton led 20-10 at half-time, but Ulverston did manage to get over the Dalton try line with Machael Reeks and Andrew Benson touching down with Duane Bell kicking one goal.
Tom Sharpe and Evan Jones lead the way for Dalton with two tries apiece, while Harry Gordon, Tyler Batty and Nathan Park were their other scorers and Pat Kelly landed five goals during what was a dominant performance.
Dalton will be looking for their third final this season, having lifted the Frank Reid and Harry Warman Cups, and having home advantage means they go into this semi-final as favourites.
However, Barrow Island have come good of late, with some experienced lads returning, and will be looking to give the Kelland Park boys a real test.
Island reached this stage without taking to the pitch after their first round tie against Millom A was called off due to their opponents being unable to raise a team.
Whatever the outcome, it is sure to be a cracking game.
Whoever prevails will face the Cents at the home of Barrow Raiders in the final on Friday, September 6.
