There was another massive shock in the Pulse Monday Night League as Benteke Fried Chicken’s Championship hopes suffered a blow as they down 14-9 to Egg Fried Reus.
Goals from Brody Luxon (7), Jake Simpson (4) and Aaron Archer (3) saw Egg Fried Reus overcome a slow start to inflict a damaging defeat on Joe Kelly’s men.
Five Kelly efforts, along with three from Jordan Dutson and one from Danny Rose proved futile for Benteke, who now trail Damned United by four points.
And the 14-9 score proved a blessing for the league leaders as they prevailed by the same result against Crapoli FC.
A rare scoring salvo from Luke McCracken (6) sent them on their way to the three points with Ben Greer (4) and Curtis McAloone (4) also getting on the scoresheet.
Brad Edwards (4), Tyler Forsyth (4), Scott Bown (3), Guy Lawrenson (3), Luke Croasdell (2) and Michael Edwards (2) ensured BTD kept the pressure on Damned with a comfortable 18-4 victory over Tesco’s, and Vote Corbyn kept up their recent good form beating SOV 18-8.
In the Premier Division, Unbelievable Jeff extended their unbeaten run to three, as goals from Mike Melia (5), Simon Rennie (2), Alex Hall (2) and Jordan Shipley saw them defeat Furness Park 10-9. Ben Stoker (5) and Jack Stoker (4) replying for Furness Park.
Elsewhere, Snow White got back on track after dropping crucial points last week, as goals from Iaian McDonald (5), Andy Hainey (5), Jason Jackson (2) and Scott McDonald secured a 13-7 win over Arty Dossers.
Shaun Fisher (4), Daryl James and Dan Jefferson efforts proved in vain for bottom side Haz Beens in their 12-6 loss to Midweek Mediocrity.
