Congratulations go to Dalton on winning the Barrow and District Rugby League championship.
Dalton have had a fantastic season, going through it undefeated, while in the process reaching the final of the Cumbria Shield as well as reaching the Harry Warman Cup Final against Millom.
Tonight, they bring the curtain down on their league campaign with Millom A being the visitors to Kelland Park.
Barrow Island A travel to Ulverston A looking for just their second win of the season after they defeated Millom 24-20 last week to finally get off the mark.
Ulverston for their part will also be eager to gain two points as the league program reaches its conclusion.
It’s sad to report that the season has been up and down with clubs not being able to put teams out in the Barrow and District League.
The question is, where have all the players gone?
Its all about opinions but my own feeling is the biggest disaster was going from winter rugby to summer rugby, as there are so many attractions in the summer and this has taken its toll on the game.
Following the conclusion of the league campaign, the Harry Warman Cup final takes place at Craven Park next Wednesday between Dalton and Millom with a 7pm kick off.
Dalton will be looking to retain the Cup after defeating Ulverston in last season’s final.
