David Tyson finished five shots clear to win the Captain's Trophy at Dunnerholme Golf Club on what was Dave Howarth's Captain's Day last Saturday.
The final results provided some fantastic scores, considering the difficult conditions that included a stiffening breeze as the afternoon went on.
Tyson’s three birdies and eight pars was enough for him to win the competition, as it gave him a nett score of 62, putting him well ahead of the field of 62 golfers.
Vice-captain Mark Hendley was runner up after a card play-off with Steve Holdaway. David Kavanagh received the Best Gross Trophy with a gross score of 74.
Nearest the Pin on the Rock was won by Harold Bayliff, while Will Hendley claimed Nearest the Pin, doing so with his second shot to the 18th flag.
Five players scored in the ‘2’s Competition, with Bayliff managing one on the sixth and one on the 14th.
Special mention goes to head greenkeeper Alec Hennes who, along with The Ospreys ,delivered the club's flag in style, by sky diving from 6,000 feet and landing in front of the cheering crowd.
