Defender Dan Jones has left Barrow AFC to join newly-promoted League Two side Salford City on a two-year contract.
The 24-year-old had attracted interest from League One clubs after an excellent season with the Bluebirds, with the likes of Fleetwood, Blackpool and Shrewsbury reportedly in for his signature.
However, Jones has instead returned to the EFL with the Ammies, who were promoted from the National League for the first time in their history via the play-offs in the last campaign.
The centre-back (who was converted from left-back by AFC manager Ian Evatt) scored four goals in 74 league appearances during his two years at Holker Street.
His form over the 2018/19 campaign led to him being named in the National League's Team of the Season, the only player from outside the top seven teams in the division to be included.
Jones was signed by former Barrow boss Paul Cox in 2017 after he was released by Grimsby Town, his previous club in the Football Club.
He had spent loan spells at AFC Fylde and Gateshead during his time at Blundell Park, having began his career with Hartlepool United in his native North East.
