Barrow AFC have released their retained list following the conclusion of the 2018/19 season, with three of their squad set to depart after the expiration of their contracts.
Defender Jack Barthram and utility player Lee Molyneux have been released by the Bluebirds after the end of their contracts, while Nathan Waterston has also left after letting the club know he did not want to renew his deal.
The Holker Street outfit are still in the process of negotiating new deals with other players in the squad.
Barrovian Waterston had his season wrecked by injury. After surgery on a shoulder injury that had been dogging him since pre-season kept him out for four months, he suffered cruciate ligament damage while on loan at Altrincham in February.
The 21-year-old Performance Centre graduate departs having made 16 appearances after signing from Workington in March 2018, scoring one goal.
Barthram was one of the few players inherited by Bluebirds manager Ian Evatt when he took charge last summer, having signed from Cheltenham Town the previous year.
The former Tottenham trainee was in and out of Barrow’s starting line-up during the campaign just finished, although he had a good spell at right wing-back after a switch in formation to 3-5-2 in November.
In total, Barthram made 60 league appearances for AFC, scoring once in a victory against Boreham Wood in his first season with them.
Molyneux, who was capable of playing at left-back or further up the wing, signed from Guiseley last summer, but he found games hard to come by, making just 17 appearances, with 11 of those from the start.
In addition to those three players, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Kyle Jameson and Dior Angus have gone back to their parent clubs after the end of their respective loan deals from Sheffield United, West Brom and Port Vale.
Having signed two-year contracts with the Bluebirds in joining last summer, club Player of the Year Jason Taylor and centre-back Matt Elsdon will be retained for next season.
Lewis Hardcastle signed permanently from Blackburn Rovers in March, while Josh Granite, Joel Dixon, Sam Hird, Josh Kay and Jack Hindle have since either agreed new contracts or extensions to their deals.
Despite suffering injury-hit first seasons with the club, defender Brian Wilson and striker Rhys Turner will be invited back for pre-season training, which begins towards the end of June.
