It was after the Lord Mayor’s Show for Bootle, who lost 5-0 against Kirkby United in the Furness Premier League after they picked up the Terry Clinton Memorial Trophy at the weekend.
Sam Pinnegor (2), Sean Gardner, Rob Fugler and Mitchell Smith scored the Kirkby goals in what was a one-sided game.
Holker Old Boys reserves thrashed Britannia 5-1 thanks to goals from player-manager Kev Watkin, Charley Thompson, Troy Magee, Conor Erdis and the evergreen Paul Southward. Andy Whiteford was on target for The Brit, but the result means they will finish in the bottom two.
This weekend The Paul Wilson Memorial Trophy finalists will be decided as Haverigg United face Croftlands Park and Ulverston Rangers reserves play Kirkby United in a double header at Holker Old Boys’ Rakesmoor Lane home.
The first game kicks off at 2pm, followed by a 5pm kick off for the second fixture.
There are also three league fixtures taking place tomorrow, with Vickerstown reserves travel to Barrow Celtic in the Furness Premier League, needing the make up the goal difference on leaders Croftlands.
In Division One, champions Barrow Wanderers bid farewell to the second tier with an away game at Askam United reserves, while runaway winners Kirkby United reserves play their penultimate game in Division Two against Furness Rovers A.
